The women’s football teams of Ivory Coast and Senegal are set to engage in two friendly matches this week. Despite a modified preparation schedule, both teams, having qualified for CAN 2012 scheduled between October 28 and November 11 in Equatorial Guinea, are gearing up for these encounters.
Originally, the two national teams had committed to participating in the UFOA Zone B Women’s Cup, but the tournament was abruptly canceled (editor’s note: initially scheduled from September 27 to October 7). Faced with this unforeseen change, the Senegalese and Ivorian football federations have swiftly organized two friendly matches in place of the canceled tournament.
The Senegalese squad is currently in Abidjan, where they will compete in a match this Wednesday, followed by another on Saturday. This alteration in their preparation plans underscores the adaptability and determination of both teams as they continue their journey towards the upcoming CAN 2012 tournament.
