South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs wrap up Dutch pre-season tour
South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs have wrapped up their preseason training tour in the Netherlands.
The Soweto are gearing for the upcoming 2025/26 campaign as they seek to make a meaningful impact. Despite ending their trophyless run, the Soweto giants missed out on the top eight in the South African top-flight.
As part of preparation for the new season, Kaizer Chiefs embark on a preseason training tour in the European, where the club played five friendly matches against Dutch opposition.
In their opening match, the Soweto giants suffered a 2-1 defeat to Vitesse, followed by a heavy 4-0 loss to Utrecht.
Additionally, Kaizer Chiefs narrowly lost to both NEC Nijmegen and PEC Zwolle in the third and fourth games, before closing the tour with a 2-1defeat to FC Twente.
Having wrapped up preparation in the Netherlands, the Soweto giants are expected to return to South Africa to continue preparations for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs have also officially announced the departure of Yusuf Maart, who leaves the club to join the Austrian Bundesliga. He will continue his career with SV Ried.
