Mimi Abdel Razek’s legacy remembered after his sudden passing
Egyptian football is mourning the loss of one of its most respected figures, Mimi Abdel Razek, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 65.
As head of Al-Masry SC’s planning committee, Abdel Razek’s dedication and experience left a deep mark on the club and the sport in Egypt.
Known for his calm leadership and tactical insight, Abdel Razek helped guide Al-Masry to secure a spot in the African Confederation Cup at the close of last season. His contributions, however, go far beyond one campaign.
A former Al-Masry player himself, Abdel Razek started his coaching journey at Port Fouad before returning to Al-Masry to serve as assistant to several top coaches, including Michael Krüger and Mohsen Saleh. He also had stints leading Smouha, Interior, and a number of lower division sides like Al-Merreikh and Kafr El-Zayat Finance.
Beyond the pitch, he shaped future talent as head of the youth sectors at both Al-Masry and Smouha.
The football world remembers Mimi Abdel Razek not only for his accomplishments but also for his lifelong service to the game.
