Sekhukhune United block move for South African prospect Vuyo Letlapa amid growing interest

Sekhukhune United is reluctant to cash in on South African youngster Vuyo Letlapa in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Letlapa is one of the brightest young talents in South African football, has attracted significant interest for European outfits including French side Nice and Austria Vienna.

However, Sekhukhune United is not in a hurry to sell the defender, prioritizing his growth as a young footballer.

Despite the 21-year-old’s desire to begin a new chapter in his career amid growing interest, club president Simon Malatji believes Letlapa still needs time to grow.

“Yes, [an] offer came,” Malatsi said. “However, we realised that he still needs to remain, so that he can be better in terms of quality. He will leave [but not now.] It’ll always be our call that anyone who wants to grow must be given that opportunity.” He said.

With the club prioritizing the players’ growth, Vuyo Letlapa is expected to continue his trade in the South African Premiership.
