The Democratic Republic of Congo’s junior football team secured qualification for the final phase of the Junior Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) by defeating Cameroon. The DRC junior team overcame a 2-0 deficit from the first leg, winning the return match 4-1. Budge Manzia was instrumental in the victory, scoring two goals in the first half. Bukasa added a third goal after halftime, and although Cameroon pulled one back in the 73rd minute, the DRC secured their historic qualification with a fourth goal from Pierre Botayi Bamato. The win marks the DRC’s first qualification for a CAN U20 final phase.
