The U-14 national team, born in 2008, commenced their week-long camp in Cairo today, featuring the participation of around 40 players summoned by the team’s head coach, Ahmed Al-Kass.
Cairo 24 has learned that the Football Association has taken an exceptional decision concerning the U-14 national team camp due to the stifling financial crisis facing the association.
The Football Association has compelled the U-14 national team to conduct a semi-open camp as it proved challenging to secure sufficient financial liquidity for a fully closed camp.
As per the agreement between the Football Association and the technical staff of the U-14 national team, it was decided that players residing in Cairo would leave the camp after each training session.
Only non-resident players coming from other governorates would stay overnight.
The same policy has been applied to the technical staff of the U-14 national team.
Non-resident members of the coaching staff will stay in the camp, while those residing in Cairo will return home after the team’s training day concludes.
The U-14 national team’s coaching staff had previously settled on organizing three friendly matches during the current camp, marking the team’s second gathering after the initial camp held in Alexandria, spanning only four days.
The first camp witnessed the participation of 72 players, divided into two groups by the coaching staff.
