Ahly Bank has successfully finalized an agreement with Ahmed Rabea, the midfielder from the Railway Club, despite his name being linked with a potential move to Zamalek.
According to sources at FilGoal.com, Rabea is set to join Ahly Bank on a contract spanning three and a half seasons.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has become a coveted asset in the football scene.
Earlier, Ahmed Raafat, Rabea’s agent, revealed Zamalek’s interest in acquiring the talented player.
Raafat stated in an interview with ON Time Sports, “Zamalek has contacted us to sign the player, and the punishment of the White Club, which prohibits them from registering new players, temporarily halted his transfer.”
When asked about the player’s desire to move to Zamalek, Raafat commented, “Any player in the Premier League or the Second Division certainly wants to play in the Premier League, specifically with Zamalek or Ahly.”
Raafat clarified, “The player’s contract is valid for two seasons with the Railway Club, and he has not signed for any team.
His move to Zamalek depends on the lifting of the club’s registration suspension.”
As of now, the Railway Club holds the sixth position in the Egyptian Premier League standings with 24 points after completing 15 rounds of matches.
Rabea’s departure represents a notable development in the football transfer landscape, with Ahly Bank securing the player’s services against reported interest from rival Zamalek.
