The Egyptian Football Association confirmed the arrival of Yasser Ibrahim and Mohannad Lashin to the national team’s training camp in the administrative capital.
The star striker of Liverpool, Mohamed Salah, is expected to join the team on Thursday, completing the squad ahead of the tournament.
The national team’s training camp extends until January 9 and includes a friendly match against Tanzania at Cairo Stadium on January 7.
Drawn into Group 2 alongside Ghana, Mozambique, and Cape Verde, Egypt kicks off its quest for an eighth title against Mozambique on January 14.
This is followed by a clash with Ghana four days later, concluding the group stage against Cape Verde on January 22.
All of Egypt’s group-stage matches will be played at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, with a seating capacity of 33,000.
Should Egypt secure the top spot in Group 2, they will face the third-placed team from Group 1, Group 3, or Group 4. If they finish in second place, they will encounter the runner-up from Group 6. The anticipation for the tournament is reaching a crescendo as Egypt aims to make a mark on the continental stage.
