The Ghana women’s under-17 football team has successfully qualified for the semi-finals of the World Cup in their category. In the quarter-finals, the Black Maidens secured a 1-0 victory over their Japanese counterparts. They will now face the French team in the semi-finals, with France having eliminated Nigeria in the quarterfinals. The other semi-final matchup will be between North Korea and Germany. The Ghana under-17 team has previously won the competition twice, in 1995 and 1999.
