The Youth Centers League in Qalyubia, the youth team from Bihada in Qanater Charity displayed a touching humanitarian gesture.
Players adorned jerseys featuring images of their late teammate, Hazem Saeed Hegazy, who tragically passed away during one of the team’s matches.
Teammates, in a show of solidarity, printed his image on their jerseys for the championship’s final showdown against the Toukh team in the Qalyubia Governorate.
The moving tribute unfolded in the presence of Hazem’s father, Saeed Hegazy Salama.
However, the match witnessed the absence of the number 10 from the players’ jerseys, following the decision of the Bihada Youth Center’s board to retire the number 10 jersey after Hazem Saeed, out of respect for the departed player.
Distinguished figures attended the event, including Major General Ismail El Far, the head of the Youth Sector at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dr. Abdullah El Batsh, the Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Mohamed Abdelkader, the Head of the Central Administration for Youth Centers, Major General Ihab Hassan, the Secretary-General of Qalyubia Governorate, and Dr. Mahmoud El Sabrout, the Ministry of Youth and Sports representative in Qalyubia.
They all participated in the closing ceremony and the final match of the Youth Centers Football League in Qalyubia.
The 10th edition of the Youth Centers League final resulted in victory for the Bihada Youth Center team, affiliated with the Qanater Charity Administration, securing a 5-4 win over the Toukh team in a penalty shootout.
The match initially ended in a positive draw, with one goal each for both teams. This victory crowned the Bihada team as the league champions, while the Toukh Youth Center, under the administration of Toukh, secured the second position.
The final took place at the Benha Stadium amidst a large turnout of enthusiastic fans supporting both teams, creating an atmosphere charged with sporting spirit.
The trophy was awarded to the winning team in a celebratory ambiance, expressing hopes for further sporting success and excellence in Qalyubia across all levels.
