Club World Cup Leaves Morocco

FIFA Announces Japan as Host for 2015 and 2016 Club World Cups

FIFA confirmed on Thursday that the 2015 and 2016 editions of the Club World Cup will be held in Japan, returning the prestigious tournament to Asia. This decision comes after Morocco hosted the previous two editions, with Bayern Munich lifting the trophy in 2013 and Real Madrid in 2014.

FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke expressed confidence in Japan’s ability to host the event, stating, “We know the organization will be perfect, with a large crowd and a festive atmosphere.”

Japan, which has hosted the tournament six times in the past (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, and 2012), will once again take on the responsibility of organizing the competition. Kuniya Daini, President of the Japan Football Association (JFA), also welcomed the opportunity, noting that the event would serve as an important experience for the country as it prepares to host the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. “Together with FIFA, we will do everything to ensure the success of this competition,” Daini added.

The 2015 Club World Cup is scheduled to take place from December 10 to 20, and will feature top clubs from around the world vying for the coveted title. With Japan’s experience and FIFA’s backing, the tournament is expected to be a major success.
