Veteran midfielder Abdallah El Said has not made any financial demands to renew his contract with Zamalek, contrary to widespread rumors about a supposed 70 million pound request.
El Said’s contract with the club ran out at the end of last season, making him a free agent and eligible to sign for any club.
A source from within Zamalek dismissed the claims of excessive financial demands. “Abdallah El Said did not request any financial sums. In his last conversation with a planning committee official and club president Hussein Labib, he informed them that he welcomes the renewal and is awaiting the club’s offer,” the source told Kooora.
“The rumors about El Said requesting 70 million pounds to renew his contract are completely untrue. The player confirmed that he wanted to renew, but when a board member intervened in the matter of El Said’s contract renewal, things came to a complete standstill.”
Kooora also states that El Said has received three local offers and one from Libya, but he prefers to stay in Egypt and will wait for Zamalek’s final move.
