Atalanta have officially confirmed the permanent signing of Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana from Southampton FC.
The 23-year-old becomes the latest addition to the Bergamo-based club’s attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Born in Techiman, Ghana, Sulemana began his footballing journey with local side Techiman Liberty before joining the renowned Right to Dream Academy.
His talent caught the eye of European scouts, and in January 2020, he signed his first professional contract with Danish club FC Nordsjælland.
He went on to play 43 matches for the Danish side, scoring 14 goals and providing five assists.
In mid-2021, Sulemana made the step up to France’s Ligue 1 with Rennes, where he made 47 appearances, scoring six times and assisting four more.
His performances earned him continental exposure, with appearances in both the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League.
The Ghana international then moved to England in February 2023, joining Southampton in the Premier League.
He played a total of 74 matches for the Saints, scoring four goals and providing seven assists.
Sulemana, who can play across multiple attacking roles, is noted for his pace and dribbling ability.
Capped 20 times by Ghana team since his debut in October 2020, Sulemana adds international pedigree to an Atalanta squad looking to strengthen its depth for domestic and European competitions.
