Egypt U-20 kick off World Cup build-up with Kuwait friendlies
Egypt’s U-20 national team have launched their preparations for the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup with two test matches lined up against Kuwait’s U-23 side.
Led by head coach Osama Nabih, the young Pharaohs will hold a training camp starting Thursday at the National Teams Center in 6th of October City. As part of the camp, Egypt will face Kuwait on July 17 and July 20 in two friendlies designed to assess squad strength ahead of the tournament in Chile.
The 2025 U-20 World Cup runs from September 27 to October 19. Egypt have been drawn into Group A, where they will compete against hosts Chile, Japan, and New Zealand.
A 34-man squad has been invited for the training camp, including Omar Sayed Moawad of Al Ahly, who returns from a cruciate ligament injury.
The squad features goalkeepers Abdel Moneim Tamer, Ahmed Wahba, and Ahmed El-Menshawy, along with a strong mix of defenders, midfielders, and attackers such as Ali Ehab and Mohamed El Desouky.
Nabih’s men are aiming to build chemistry and test tactics early.
