Algeria Prepares for “Real Test” Against Oman After Qatar Loss
After suffering a 1-0 loss to Qatar in their last friendly, Algeria is gearing up to face Oman on Monday in Doha. The Fennecs, who were unable to find the back of the net against the Qataris, will look to bounce back against a team that has been in strong form. Oman, managed by Paul Le Guen, enjoyed a resounding 6-0 victory over Malaysia and will be confident ahead of the encounter.
Despite their dominant win over Malaysia, Le Guen sees the upcoming match against Algeria as a “real test” for his team. In a press conference before the match, the French coach noted: “The match against Algeria will be a real test for us, the debates will certainly be very contested. I expect a good production from my players. We must prepare well for this match.”
Le Guen expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance against Malaysia, especially their tactical discipline, but acknowledged that facing Algeria would be a much tougher challenge. “I am completely satisfied with the result, but especially with the manner. The players showed great tactical rigor. We must turn the page on the Malaysia match, and concentrate on the one against Algeria which will be even more difficult,” he added.
As Algeria looks to recover from their setback against Qatar, Oman will be aiming to prove that their impressive form is no fluke in what promises to be a thrilling contest.
