The representative of Al Ahly striker Wessam Abu Ali has stepped up efforts to finalize his client’s exit, hoping the club will honor a prior agreement.
Kooora has learned that Belgian agent Jacob Kruger recently reached out to Al Ahly’s sporting director Mohamed Youssef, seeking clarity on the striker’s situation. The Cairo giants, however, publicly stated their decision to keep Wessam, rejecting any current offers for the forward.
A source told Kooora that Kruger reminded Al Ahly of their earlier understanding to allow Wessam to move after the Club World Cup.
“Mohamed Youssef explained to the player’s agent that the technical vision required his presence, in addition to the fact that no suitable financial offer had been received,” the source said
“Wessam Abu Ali did not create a crisis as was reported, but rather wanted to reach an agreement through his agent.
“Jacob has already confirmed to Al Ahly’s sporting director that they are awaiting a strong offer that will be presented in the coming hours.
He revealed: “Wessam returned from the United States two days ago and will leave for Sweden within hours.”
