Tottenham Open Contract Talks with Nabil Bentaleb
Tottenham Hotspur have initiated discussions with midfielder Nabil Bentaleb over a possible contract extension, according to reports in the London Evening Standard.
The Algerian international, who is currently under contract until June 2018, has impressed club officials with his development and consistency in midfield. Talks are now underway between the club and the player’s representatives to secure his long-term future at White Hart Lane.
Sources close to the negotiations suggest that Bentaleb could be offered a significant salary increase as part of the new deal, rewarding his growing influence within the squad.
The 20-year-old, a product of Tottenham’s youth academy, broke into the first team during the 2013–14 season and has since established himself as a key figure under manager Mauricio Pochettino. Known for his composure on the ball and tactical awareness, Bentaleb has also become a regular fixture for the Algerian national team.
Spurs are keen to lock down their emerging talents amid interest from other European clubs, and securing Bentaleb’s services beyond 2018 is seen as a priority for the club’s long-term plans.
Neither the player nor the club has made an official statement, but both parties are said to be optimistic about reaching an agreement in the coming weeks.
