Emmanuel Adebayor Explains Failed Winter Transfer Move
Emmanuel Adebayor, the Togolese international striker, has shed light on the reasons behind his failed transfer during the final days of the January transfer window. Despite being placed on the transfer list by Tottenham, the move ultimately did not materialize.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Adebayor explained:
“It all happened in the last 48 hours after the winter transfer window closed. The club decided to loan me out, which I was actually happy about. There were five good clubs interested in me, and out of those five, I chose three first, and then one, where I wanted to go. But Mr. Levy was against it because it was a rival club. So I stayed here and I’m happy to be at Tottenham to do my job.”
Although the former Arsenal and Manchester City forward was open to a loan move, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy reportedly blocked his preferred destination due to it being a Premier League rival.
Despite the setback, Adebayor remains committed to Tottenham Hotspur, stating he’s content to stay and fight for his place at White Hart Lane.
