Asamoah Gyan’s Fitness Uncertain Ahead of Ghana’s AFCON Semi-Final
Ghana faces a crucial challenge ahead of Thursday’s African Cup of Nations semi-final, as the availability of captain and leading scorer Asamoah Gyan remains in doubt.
Gyan, who was injured during Sunday’s quarter-final victory over Guinea, is scheduled to undergo an MRI scan to assess the severity of his injury. The Black Stars’ medical team and coaching staff are awaiting the results before making a final decision on his participation.
“We are waiting for the results before making a decision,” confirmed the team’s press chief.
If ruled out, Ghana will have to contend without their talismanic striker as they prepare to face host nation Equatorial Guinea in their quest to reach the AFCON final for the fourth consecutive time.
