Marseille Midfielder Abdelaziz Barrada Nearing Return from Injury
By BBC Sport | February 3, 2015
Olympique de Marseille midfielder Abdelaziz Barrada is edging closer to a return to full training after several weeks on the sidelines with a thigh injury.
The Moroccan international has been out of action for an extended period but resumed individual fitness work this week as he continues his rehabilitation. On Tuesday, Barrada was seen running alone away from the main group at the club’s training ground while also receiving ongoing treatment, the club confirmed in a brief update.
While no exact timeline has been given for his return to competitive action, the latest development signals encouraging progress in his recovery.
Barrada had featured regularly for Marcelo Bielsa’s side earlier in the season, offering creativity and control in midfield. His return will provide a welcome boost as Marseille continue their push in the Ligue 1 title race.
The club’s medical staff will continue to assess his progress in the coming days before reintegrating him with the rest of the squad.
