Egyptian giants Al Ahly set to part ways with Moroccan defender Achraf Dari after FIFA Club World Cup
Al Ahly are expected to part ways with Moroccan defender Achraf Dari after FIFA Club World Cup tournament.
The 26-year-old, who joined the Egyptian giants in 2024 as a replacement for Mohamed Abdelmonem has yet to live up to expectations.
With new manager Jose Riveiro reportedly unconvinced by his performances, the club is expected to show him the exit door at the end of the tournament in the USA.
The defender struggled in the match against Palmeiras, where Al Ahly conceded twice before he was substituted due to an injury during a weather-related stoppage. Egyptian defender Ahmed Ramadan “Beckham” replaced him for the remainder of the game.
Meanwhile, the defender’s current contract with the African giants is expected to expire in the summer of 2028.
Al Ahly faced a tough 2-0 loss against Brazil’s Palmeiras in their second match of the tournament. Having failed to secure a win after two matches, the Egyptian giants now risk of exiting the tournament, potentially missing out on the Round of 16.
