Samuel Eto’o on the Verge of Serie A Return with Sampdoria
Samuel Eto’o may soon be making a return to Serie A, where he previously shone with Inter Milan. The Cameroonian striker, currently at Everton, is reportedly close to signing with Sampdoria, who are eager to bring his experience and goal-scoring instincts back to Italy.
According to maxifoot.fr, Eto’o has already convinced Everton to let him leave, and his agent Claudio Vigorelli was spotted in Genoa on Sunday during Sampdoria’s match against Empoli (1-0), reportedly to finalize discussions.
As per Tuttosport, Sampdoria has tabled a two-year deal with an optional extension, offering Eto’o an annual salary of €2 million, excluding bonuses.
At 33, Eto’o has featured 14 times in the Premier League this season, scoring 3 goals for Everton. His potential move to Sampdoria would mark a return to a league where he previously claimed a historic treble with Inter in 2009–2010.
