Bayal Sall Left Out as Saint-Étienne Prepare for Reims Clash
Senegalese centre-back Mustapha Bayal Sall will not feature in Saint-Étienne’s squad to face Reims this weekend, despite returning to full training following a groin injury that had sidelined him since early December.
Although he has rejoined team sessions, the 29-year-old is considered not yet match-fit for the Ligue 1 fixture on Matchday 20. Manager Christophe Galtier has opted to give Sall additional time to regain sharpness.
Elsewhere, François Clerc remains unavailable due to a lingering ankle inflammation that has kept him out of action since early October.
Saint-Étienne are also without African internationals Ismaël Diomandé, Max-Alain Gradel, and Florentin Pogba, all of whom are away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.
