Silas is fighting hard to return to VfB Stuttgart after an ankle injury cut short his loan spell at Red Star Belgrade.
The 26-year-old winger is currently training near Düsseldorf at his agency’s facility, pushing himself to be fit for the new season. He’s still under contract with Stuttgart until 2026 and is hoping to prove he deserves another chance.
Yet, uncertainty clouds his future at the club. Under coach Sebastian Hoeneß, Silas struggled to fit into the tactical setup and wasn’t even listed in the Champions League squad. This has left his long-term role with the team in doubt.
Red Star Belgrade, once a potential permanent option, chose not to activate a €10 million buy clause. Interest from Bundesliga sides Union Berlin and Werder Bremen has cooled. Overseas clubs like Everton and Villarreal have also been mentioned, but no move has materialized.
Despite it all, Stuttgart isn’t ready to give up on Silas just yet. The attacker, signed for €8 million in 2019, may still have something left to offer.
