Zamalek SC has launched a bold new chapter in its football project, officially appointing John Edward as the club’s sporting director with full authority to lead its football sector.
The announcement came on Friday following a board meeting led by club president Hussein Labib.
Edward’s role includes overseeing the first team and managing all football-related matters within the club. The Board emphasized that Edward will have total control over the department, with the goal of steering Zamalek to consistent success and aligning with the ambitions of their loyal fan base.
In its official statement, the club expressed gratitude to the Planning and Development Committee for its restructuring efforts and confirmed the committee will continue as advisors.
To ensure communication clarity, only Edward or the club’s official spokesperson will issue statements regarding the football sector. The club also warned against false information aimed at disrupting unity.
Zamalek reaffirmed its commitment to honoring fans’ expectations and sustaining a winning tradition, fresh off their 29th Egyptian Cup triumph.
