US Ouakam Extend Lead in Senegalese Ligue 1 Pro After Derby Win
US Ouakam (USO) cemented their place at the top of the Senegalese Ligue 1 Pro standings following a narrow 1-0 derby victory over rivals Olympique de Ngor during the fourth matchday, which took place across Saturday and Sunday.
The match, which pitted two clubs from Dakar’s traditional fishing communities against each other, was tightly contested, but USO emerged with the decisive goal to maintain their unbeaten run and move to 10 points at the top of the table.
Close contenders Niarry Tally (NGB) and Diambars, who started the day just behind USO, played out a 1-1 draw, allowing USO to widen the gap. NGB now sit second with 8 points, while Diambars follow closely with 7.
The weekend also saw strong performances from some of Senegal’s traditional powerhouses. Jaraaf of Dakar claimed a comfortable 2-0 win over Suneor, while Casa Sports edged Port 1-0, and AS Pikine recorded a solid 1-0 away victory over Mbour Petite Côte (MPC).
In Saint-Louis, the struggles continue for Linguère, who remain winless this season after a 1-0 home defeat to Stade de Mbour. The result leaves Linguère under pressure as the campaign gains momentum.
Elsewhere, AS Douanes and Guédiawaye FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
The fourth round of fixtures produced a total of 10 goals, a slight drop from the 16 scored during the previous matchday.
