Tino Kadewere seals loan move to Nantes as Olympique Lyonnais initiates winter transfers

Olympique Lyonnais (OL) kicks off the winter transfer window with Tino Kadewere finding an alternative path. The Zimbabwean striker, not firmly in the plans of interim coach Pierre Sage, is set to embark on a new journey with Nantes in Loire-Atlantique, as reported by L’Équipe on Tuesday.

At 27 years old, Kadewere, no longer feeling integral to the Lyon project, seeks to showcase his skills donning the yellow and green colors of Nantes.

His arrival at Jonelière is anticipated on Wednesday, with both clubs on the brink of concluding a mutual agreement.

Although Kadewere is under contract with OL until 2025, the prospect of a loan move to Nantes with a compulsory purchase option at a significantly reduced price is under consideration.

This clause would be triggered if the Canaries decide to retain Kadewere, with a resale percentage also included in the arrangement.

The extension of Kadewere’s contract until 2025 with Lyon was recently assented by the player to avert an unrestricted departure.

This strategic move signals a potential fresh start for Kadewere and aligns with Nantes’ efforts to bolster their attacking prowess.

As the winter transfer window unfolds, football enthusiasts will closely monitor the developments, as players seek new opportunities and clubs aim to strengthen their squads for the challenges ahead.
