Adel Taarabt Slams Mario Balotelli: “He’s Not a Phenomenon”
Former teammates at AC Milan, Adel Taarabt and Mario Balotelli are clearly not on the same page anymore. In a candid interview with Sky Italia, the Moroccan midfielder launched a scathing attack on the Italian striker, questioning both his talent and attitude.
“Everyone told me he was very strong. I played with him, and I can say he is strong—but he is not a world-class player,” said Taarabt. “He is a normal player, not a phenomenon.”
Taarabt didn’t stop there. He criticized Balotelli’s lack of team spirit and his failure to live up to expectations at top clubs.
“He shouts loudly but does not play for the team. He had so many chances—from City to Milan—but he wasted them.”
The outburst comes at a time when both players are struggling to make headlines for the right reasons. Taarabt himself has gone ten Premier League games without scoring, while Balotelli continues to draw criticism for his underwhelming performances.
One thing is certain: this public jab is unlikely to go unnoticed by Balotelli, who is no stranger to controversy—or fiery responses.
