Reigning African champions ES Sétif will face Auckland City on Saturday in the Club World Cup, aiming to avenge Moroccan club MAT’s recent exit at the hands of the New Zealanders. Ahead of this crucial match, Sétif’s coach Kheireddine Madoui shared his assessment of Auckland City:
“It would be a serious mistake to underestimate our opponents. Although they didn’t perform at their best against MAT, they demonstrated solid physical and tactical qualities,” he said.
Madoui added, “The best scoring chances in that game came from Auckland’s counterattacks, and I expect them to use the same strategy on Saturday. We must prepare accordingly. While we will be physically fresher, that alone might not be enough to make the difference.”
In other Club World Cup action tomorrow, Cruz Azul will face WS Wanderers.
