Experienced attacker Percy Tau is not exiting the South African national team anytime soon as he eyes a sensational return.
Tau, who is currently a free agent has been overlooked by the technical team led by Belgium trainer Hugo Broos in recent times.
In an interview, the former Brighton and Al Ahly affirmed he can still play competitively for the Bafana Bafana, urging a blend of young and experienced players for the betterment of the national team.
“I still feel I can contribute to the country’s progress. Yes, there are matches after which doubts or questions arise, but that doesn’t make you a bad player and it doesn’t change who I am. My name will never change. I am still Percy and I will always strive to give my best.”
“Yes, there are players who perform well, but do you really want the national team to be made up only of young players and for all the rest to be pushed out?” Tau stated.
“I believe there always has to be balance. You want young players, and you want experienced ones. And by the way, I’m still only 31, but the coaches act like I’m 38,” Tau said.
Meanwhile, Percy Tau will have to find himself a new club following his departure from Qatar SC.
