Benin’s national football team is set to play a friendly match against Indonesia on April 25, as part of their preparations for the upcoming preliminary round of qualifiers for the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN) against Ghana in June. The announcement was made by the Beninese football federation.
The selected squad for the friendly match in Indonesia will comprise local players. The team is expected to depart from Cotonou on April 22. The composition of the squad will include players who performed well in the junior CAN, those who demonstrated good performances in a friendly match in Equatorial Guinea, some who were part of the national team in Algeria, and talented players from the local championship.
This friendly encounter will serve as valuable preparation for Benin as they gear up for the CHAN qualifiers against Ghana, providing an opportunity to assess and fine-tune the team ahead of the important tournament.
