After just 14 minutes into the game, Emam Ashour suffered a collarbone injury and had to be replaced by new signing Zizo.

Subsequently, Al-Ahly announced that the player was taken to the hospital immediately after leaving the field, before team doctor Dr. Ahmed Gaballah confirmed that Ashour had suffered a broken collarbone.

The midfielder has undergone a successful surgery now and immediately commences his road to recovery.

Meanwhile, Emam Ashour is now expected to miss the rest of the team’s matches in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

While it will be a big blow for Al Ahly, the club must cope without him in the rest of the group stage games and try to pick as many points as possible to advance to the knockout stage.
