Senegal Prepares Final Squad for UEMOA Tournament in Togo
The Lions of Teranga are entering the final phase of preparations for the 2014 UEMOA (West African Economic and Monetary Union) Tournament, set to take place in Lomé, Togo, from November 22 to 29. Senegal has gathered 26 locally-based players at the Jules François Bocandé training center in Toubab Dialaw, but only 20 will make the final squad.
With the tournament fast approaching, coach Joseph Koto’s technical staff is working swiftly to finalize selections.
“We have no more time to waste. The competition is about to start and we have to find the 20 chosen players this Monday,” said one of Koto’s assistants. “There are many players who have gone on trips—Roger Gomis, for example—which is why we need our full squad as soon as possible.”
Group Stage Outlook
Senegal will compete in Group B alongside:
Burkina Faso
Benin
Guinea-Bissau
Group A includes:
