Paul-Georges Ntep Credits Discipline and Hard Work for Breakthrough at Rennes
Paul-Georges Ntep has emerged as a key figure at Stade Rennais, not through favoritism, but through sheer determination and hard work. In an interview with Ouest-France, the French winger opened up about the personal growth and lifestyle changes that have helped him elevate his game.
“I became aware of certain things on my own. I wouldn’t say I was letting myself go, but I wasn’t necessarily doing everything I needed to do,” Ntep admitted. “Now I pay attention to a lot of little details, especially my diet. As a result, I feel lighter and I can repeat races more easily.”
The 22-year-old also emphasized that while his speed and power are natural assets, they are not enough without consistent effort.
“If I have a talent, it’s my speed and power. But after that, you have to work. I started from the bottom to get where I am. Since I arrived in Auxerre, I’ve always worked.”
Ntep has scored four goals this season and played a crucial role in Rennes’ victory over Lille, providing two assists in that match. His performances continue to justify the club’s faith in him, as he builds a reputation as one of Ligue 1’s most dynamic wide players.
