Premier League giants Liverpool have joined the race for the acquisition of Nigeria international attacker Victor Osimhen this summer.
Osimhen has become a subject of interest for several clubs including Saudi giants Al Hilal, and Chelsea, as he is set for a permanent departure from Napoli.
The Nigeria forward spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, playing an instrumental role in the clubs success in the Turkish top-flight.
The 26-year-old forward had a phenomenal season, scoring 37 goals and providing 8 assists in 41 matches, tallying a remarkable 45 goal contributions.
His outstanding performance have inevitably attracted the attention of football giants across the globe, who are knocking on Victor’s door more persistently with each passing day.
With Osimhen rejecting several offers from Al Hilal, Liverpool, who are looking forward to strengthening their squad for the new campaign has joined the race to sign the Nigeria star.
Osimhen’s high salary which is around 10 million euros per year could prove to be the main stumbling block for the transfer.
The Reds are hoping the player will accept a pay cut in pursuit of greater ambitions and silverware; otherwise, the deal is unlikely to happen.
