Mourad Okbi Poised to Join Tunisia National Team Coaching Staff
Mourad Okbi is being strongly considered for a role within the Carthage Eagles’ coaching staff, according to reports from Tunisian media. The former US Monastirienne and Jeunesse Sportive Kairouanaise coach is expected to join forces with Georges Leekens, the current head coach of the Tunisian national team.
Okbi is tipped to replace Ghazi Gherairi as assistant coach. Gherairi has recently moved on to manage CS Sfaxien, taking over from Philippe Troussier.
However, an alternative scenario being discussed involves Nizar Khanfir, the current coach of Tunisia’s Olympic team, stepping into the assistant role. In that case, Okbi could take over as head of the Olympic selection instead.
Final decisions are expected soon as Tunisia continues its preparations for upcoming competitions under Leekens’ leadership.
