MLS Suspends Peguy Luyindula for One Match Following Dangerous Tackle
Peguy Luyindula, the Franco-Guinean international playing for the New York Red Bulls, has been handed a one-match suspension by the Major League Soccer (MLS) Disciplinary Committee.
The decision follows a dangerous tackle made by Luyindula on Luis Garrido during the Red Bulls’ 1-0 win over Houston on October 4. Although he only received a yellow card during the match, the league’s review panel deemed the action serious enough to warrant further punishment.
As a result, Luyindula will miss Saturday’s game against Toronto FC at the Red Bull Arena. The suspension comes at a crucial point in the MLS season, as New York pushes for playoff positioning.
