Franco-Ivorian forward Driss Seya Kouame Kembo has officially joined Amiens SC, signing a training contract that will see him initially feature for the club’s reserve side.

The 19-year-old striker, who came through the youth ranks at SM Caen before making his mark with Quevilly-Rouen Métropole’s U17 squad, joined RC Strasbourg’s U19 setup in July 2023. Now, just one year into his contract with Strasbourg, which was set to expire in June 2025, Kembo departs as a free agent following the mutual decision to part ways.

Kembo confirmed his move to Amiens through a post on his Instagram account, sharing the news with supporters and marking the beginning of a new chapter in his career. The club has yet to release an official statement, but sources close to the player have indicated that he will immediately integrate into Amiens SC’s reserve team, with hopes of progressing into the senior setup.

Despite his relatively short stint with Strasbourg, the young centre-forward showed glimpses of his potential, impressing with his physical presence, goal-scoring instincts, and work ethic on the pitch. Although he did not break into the first team, Kembo’s development has not gone unnoticed, and Amiens have moved swiftly to bring him into their ranks as they look to strengthen their pipeline of young attacking talent.

The move represents a strategic opportunity for both the player and the club. For Amiens SC, it signals continued investment in youth development, with Kembo becoming the latest addition to a growing list of prospects aimed at reinforcing the club’s long-term ambitions. For Kembo, it offers a fresh start in a new environment where regular minutes and focused development could help him transition from a promising academy player to a professional-level striker.

Kembo’s footballing journey has been defined by steady progression through France’s competitive youth football scene. Starting at SM Caen, he laid the technical foundation of his game before moving to QRM, where he began to gain attention for his goal-scoring contributions. His switch to Strasbourg’s U19 side last year was seen as a step up, though his time there ultimately proved short-lived.

Now at Amiens, Kembo faces the challenge of establishing himself within a system that places heavy emphasis on discipline, development, and tactical understanding. While his immediate future lies with the reserve team, strong performances could see him earn a pathway into the first team, especially with Amiens’ track record of promoting young talent.

At just 19 years old, Kembo remains a raw but promising forward. His dual heritage and grounding in several respected French academies place him in a strong position to grow both technically and mentally within a structured footballing environment.

As Amiens SC continue to reshape their squad with an eye on both performance and potential, the arrival of Driss Kembo stands as a low-risk, high-upside signing. His journey from Caen to QRM, through Strasbourg, and now to Amiens, is one marked by quiet ambition and steady development. The coming season will be a defining period as he looks to make his mark and take the next step in his professional career.
