Due to the ongoing Ebola outbreak in West Africa, Guinea remains banned from hosting international football matches on home soil, per the latest decision from the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The restriction is a public health precaution as the virus continues to affect the region, particularly Guinea.
🔹 “Home” Matches Played Abroad
As a result, the Syli National (Guinea’s national team) has had to establish its base in Morocco, where it plays its “home” matches in the AFCON 2015 qualifiers. So far, this relocation has worked in their favor, with two wins in two matches played on Moroccan soil, including both senior and junior fixtures against Togo.
