Egyptian outfit Pyramids FC have made a firm decision to retain winger Mahmoud Zalaka ahead of the 2024–25 season, rejecting interest from Zamalek, who are keen to secure his signature.
The enterprising winger has caught the attention of several clubs including Zamalek, following an impressive loan spell at Ceramica Cleopatra.
The 25-year-old made 30 appearances in the recently concluded campaign, scoring nine goals and assisting five across the period.
Despite Zamalek viewing the forward as a priority target, Pyramids management have opted to recall Zalaka for the upcoming campaign.
With Ibrahim Adel reportedly close to securing a move to Europe, Pyramids are determined to keep hold of Zalaka to strengthen squad depth and maintain domestic competitiveness.
This decision shuts the door on a potential summer switch to Zamalek, at least for now, as the Sky Blues build their squad around rising talents for what promises to be a defining season domestically and in Africa.
