South African outfit Kaizer Chiefs are closing in on the acquisition of former Orlando Pirates defender Paseka Mako.
The 31-year-old is in advanced talks with Kaizer Chiefs over a possible summer switch following his departure from Pirates.
Initially, Kaizer’s main target was defender Fawaaz Basadien, but their transfer priorities have shifted since Stellenbosch are unwilling to part with their key player.
The Soweto giants are seeking to bolster their squad for the new campaign following an inconsistent performance in the just ended campaign, particularly in the South African top-flight.
Kaizer Chiefs finished out of the top eight teams and are determined to fix their wrongs in order to compete in the upcoming season.
With talks advancing, Kaizer Chiefs are expected to add Paseka Mako to their rnaks for the new season.
Mako featured in 26 matches for the Pirates across all competitions in the 2024/2025 season, recording one assist.
