Willy Boly Set to Join Sporting Braga from AJ Auxerre
French defender Willy Boly is on the verge of a move to Portuguese side Sporting Braga, according to reports from Le Parisien. The 23-year-old, who currently plays for AJ Auxerre, is expected to sign a four-year contract with the Primeira Liga club in the coming hours.
Initially linked with a transfer to Italian club Parma, Boly’s destination has now shifted to Portugal, where Braga have secured his services. The defender, of Ivorian descent, remains under contract with Auxerre until 2015, but the transfer will allow him to take the next step in his career abroad.
Boly’s strong performances at Auxerre have attracted attention across Europe, and this move represents an opportunity for him to gain valuable experience in a top-flight European league. Sporting Braga, a regular competitor in Portuguese football’s upper echelons, will be hoping Boly can bolster their defensive line.
