Souleymane Diawara Poised for Ligue 1 Move to Nice
Veteran Senegalese defender Souleymane Diawara is set to remain in Ligue 1 after reportedly nearing a deal with OGC Nice. With his contract at Olympique de Marseille having expired, the 35-year-old is said to be in Nice finalizing the terms of his transfer, according to local outlet La Provence and Marseille’s official website.
Diawara has kept up his fitness by training with Ligue 2 side Arles-Avignon following the summer break. Despite his time away from top-flight football, the former Bordeaux stalwart has expressed openness to continuing his career in Ligue 1 with a new challenge.
