The board of directors of Al-Ahly Football Club has announced its decision to fulfill the wish of young Palestinian fan Ali Ismael, who expressed his desire to receive gloves from Mohamed El-Shennawy, the goalkeeper and captain of the team.
In a heartfelt message posted on Al-Ahly’s official Facebook page, Saad Shalaby, the club’s CEO, conveyed the club’s eagerness to respond to the young Palestinian boy’s request.
Saad Shalaby stated in the message highlighted by Al-Ahly’s account, “Our Palestinian son Ali’s message has reached us, and it has received considerable attention from Al-Ahly’s board of directors.”
Young Ali Ismael had sent a touching plea, saying, “I ask you to take me, my aunt, my cousin, and my cousin’s son.
Take us to you; I just want treatment.
I want to see El-Shennawy, my role model and the role model of every Al-Ahly fan.
I wished to be Al-Ahly’s goalkeeper like El-Shennawy, and I wanted to see him and wear his gloves.
My dreams are all about traveling to Egypt, supporting Al-Ahly, and training with them.
Every time there’s an Al-Ahly match, I’ll attend, and they never let us down.
The last time they won the African Cup, they raised our heads high.
We have 11 African Cup titles, not once or twice.
Al-Ahly is my role model; I love them, and my blood is red because I am an Ahlawy.”
This heartwarming gesture from Al-Ahly demonstrates the club’s commitment to its fans, even those beyond borders, and emphasizes the positive impact football can have on inspiring dreams and fostering unity.
