German-Ivorian defender Jonathan Tah arrives in Munich for medicals ahead of Bayern move
German defender of Ivorian descent, Jonathan Tah, has arrived in Munich, where he is set to undergo a medical examination before sealing his transfer to Bayern Munich.
This comes after Africasoccer reported on Monday that Tah will travel to Munich on Wednesday to finalise his move to the German Bundesliga giants.
The talented centre-back, whose contract with Bayer Leverkusen runs out on June 30, 2025, will not be renewing with his current club. Reports say Bayern is preparing to sign him this summer.
Tah has been a mainstay at Bayer Leverkusen since 2015, racking up over 400 appearances and contributing 18 goals and 13 assists. The move to Bayern is expected to boost his career further, offering a chance to compete at the highest level in German football.
After his medical, Tah will join the German national team to compete in the Nations League Final Four next week. There is still some uncertainty about whether Bayern will pay a transfer fee for Tah ahead of the Club World Cup, despite his contract ending next year.
This transfer marks a major change for Tah, who looks set to become a key part of Bayern’s defense moving forward
