Mario Lemina Hopeful After Marseille’s Pre-Season Win Over Benfica
After Olympique de Marseille’s encouraging 2-1 victory over Benfica Lisbon, midfielder Mario Lemina expressed his satisfaction with the team’s progress under new coach Marcelo Bielsa. The win follows another strong result against Bayer Leverkusen, marking a promising pre-season run for OM.
“It’s definitely convincing for us,” Lemina told RMC. “It’s very difficult, but we’ve worked hard during this preparation. I hope it continues and we can collect more wins.”
Lemina, signed from Lorient last summer, struggled to make an impact in his first season at Marseille. But with Bielsa’s arrival, there’s renewed hope that the Franco-Gabonese midfielder can finally cement his place and thrive in a more defined tactical system.
