Rogerio Micale open to Zamalek coaching role but talks yet to begin
Rogerio Micale, the former Egypt U-23 coach, could be in line for a high-profile return to Egyptian football, but no deal is on the table yet.
His agent, Cayo Cesar, has cleared the air regarding speculation linking Micale to Zamalek.
The Cairo-based giants are currently under the guidance of Ayman Al-Ramady, who took over following the departure of Portuguese boss Jose Peseiro. Micale, well respected in African football for leading Egypt’s U-23 side, has become a name of interest for Zamalek fans and pundits as the club seeks stability and success.
“It is a great honour for any coach to lead a great and historic team like Zamalek,” Cesar said during a television appearance.
“Rogerio Micale is a great coach, and there is no doubt that any coach would welcome being at Zamalek,” he added.
“So far, there are no official negotiations between Zamalek and Micale, and I have not received any contact from White Castle officials regarding the matter.”
Zamalek currently sit third in the Egyptian Premier League with 44 points.
