Djamel Abdoun Denies Contract Termination Amid Transfer Rumors

Algerian midfielder Djamel Abdoun has publicly refuted reports claiming he terminated his contract with Nottingham Forest and is set to leave the club for Qatar.

Speaking exclusively to France Football on Thursday evening, Abdoun expressed his frustration at the swirling rumors surrounding his career. “It’s completely false. I’m fed up with the rumors about my career and my life. I never terminated my contract,” he stated firmly.

The speculation began earlier in the day with numerous media outlets suggesting that Abdoun, alongside fellow Algerian striker Rafik Djebbour, would be leaving Nottingham Forest. While Djebbour later confirmed his departure, Abdoun insisted that he remains committed to the English club.

“I’m at home in England. I’m watching TV. Do you want to know what program I’m watching?” Abdoun added, clearly irritated by the false reports. “Now, I’d like someone to call before writing nonsense about me. Why are we doing this?”

The midfielder’s comments come amid a period of uncertainty for Nottingham Forest’s squad, with the club restructuring ahead of the new season. Abdoun, who joined Forest in January, has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter and has faced criticism for his inconsistent performances.

Despite the rumors, Abdoun’s insistence that he remains with the club suggests he is focused on proving his worth at Nottingham Forest.
