Kylian Mbappe surged ahead in the race for the 2024–25 European Golden Boot by hitting his 30th La Liga goal of the season in Real Madrid’s final league clash against Real Sociedad.

The decisive finish takes his tally to 60 points, lifting him above Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, who ends his campaign with 39 goals and 58.5 points.

The European Golden Boot rankings rely on a weighted system where goals in Europe’s top five leagues are worth double. Goals in leagues like Portugal’s Primeira Liga carry a 1.5 multiplier, giving top-flight scorers like Mbappe an edge.

Now leading the standings, the French star has one more rival to watch: Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool forward has 28 goals (56 points) and a game left to play, keeping the race alive until the final whistle of the Premier League season.

Mbappe’s incredible debut year with Real Madrid now features 41 goals in all competitions, just three shy of his career-best total of 44 goals set last season.
