Antoine Kombouaré has officially committed to staying at RC Lens for the upcoming season in Ligue 1, putting an end to the speculation surrounding his future.
Speaking at the Ligue 2 Best Coach award ceremony organized by the AEF (Association of Football Educators), Kombouaré confirmed that he had received the necessary guarantees from the club’s management, particularly concerning recruitment resources, which were a condition for him to continue.
“I was waiting to have guarantees, to know what resources I would have because it was imperative to be able to recruit. I received these guarantees,” he stated.
With Lens returning to Ligue 1 and ambitious backing from investor Hafiz Mammadov, Kombouaré now has the green light to build a competitive squad. His continued leadership brings stability to the project, especially as Lens explores high-profile targets like Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
